Just kidding...I saw this for the first time last night. I thought it was incredible. I did think it was funny how they are in Vietnam for 30 seconds and then right back to San Francisco. Then Eddie is spying on Rose from accross the street when he comes back from the war just like, in The Deer Hunter, Michael is spying on Linda from accross the street when he returns from the war.

I think that they did the best that they could do with a fairly low budget to show him in Vietnam. I agree that the movie is incredible.

It was nothing like The Deer Hunter. It's not really about Vietnam, it's supposed to be about how Rose influences Eddie.

And the scene connection is an extremely lose one.
