Discovered this Movie in 1995 and still love it

I know many have shared how they first Discovered this movie.and like me many discovered it by accident or by mistake. i first seen this movie in 1995 i was 18 at the time I had waken up early and was bored nothing to watch on Tv so i put it on the Tv Guide Channel remember that. and seen that a movie called Dogfight was gonna come on at first i thought it was an Airplane World War 2 movie so i figured that should be good.

when i first watched it i was like whats this but as i began to watch i just couldn't change the channel something about this movie was so good i just kept getting into it. after that i remember wanting to watch it again i bought it on Vhs and had it for years. as a Person who normally wasn't into movies like this well at the time anyways i was a Immature kid into action and Adventure movies. i really like this one and now as an adult i can't even stand action movies or horrors lol.

Now as an Adult i think back and think i liked this movie for several reasons 1. i was like a Boy version of Rose kinda eccentric was into politics hated war was sorta nieve as a youngster had self esteem issues also at the time. 2. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area In Oakland so the Bay area setting caught my attention. 3. i always had a thing for the 60s the Hippies the Black Panthers the Chicano Movement etc. the ending with all the hippies was the coolest. 4. i thought it was a great romantic movie about 2 confused kids and at that time i was a confused kid.


so there you go hope i didn't bore you but had to give my 2 cents on Dogfight. the only thing that always has bugged me is i wonder what fate Rose and Birdlace end up having. did they get together and Marry did Birdlace become a Antiwar activist Because Rose was obiously a Hippy what ended up happening.
