'Thank you so much. That was so nice.'

Female Judge: "Thank you so much. That was so nice."
Ms. Foster: "Mmm, it was nothing."

The look on Daniel's face after this cryptic exchange is priceless. I often say the two lines with my best friend since they make really no sense in the movie except to prove that someone, Ms. Foster is out to get Bob Diamond.

"First you ask if you can be red, knowing that I'm always red."

I always took these kind of exchanges in the movie as VERY meaningful; thematic almost.

It turns out the things most meaningful in life are the things we give the least regard to. Like saying good morning to someone. And responding to being thanked; taking a compliment when given one instead of acting like you don't deserve it.

This kind of thing may be the "secret" to overcoming fear in our lives.
Since "social" fear at least stems from feelings of inferiority.

At the very least we can assume that these smarter people know some reason for doing this that we don't ;)

But his reaction is classic: looking from one to the other; like he's going to find an explaination in the 2nd person's face when he didnt find it in the first one's ;)

I laugh in that scene also...I suspect in the afterlife, everyone is bisexual.

Actually it would make more sense that everyone was asexual.

I think some people have misread that moment quite a bit.

My interpretation, and I'm pretty sure I'm close on this: it was just another unfortunate moment for the chronically unlucky Daniel. His Judgment City experience was constantly contrasted against's Julia's, from quality of hotel to length of days, to her relationship with her judges. The joke is he worries the judge might be favorable to the prosecution. And it's even funnier by not being detailed.

No different than how Daniel reacted when learning Diamond and Foster had a feud. Like he was being continually cheated by the process. I didn't take it as a bribe to get him convicted, or as a romantic gift between professionals. Like life, the afterlife is sometimes unfair. In my opinion, of course.

It was very meaningful and made the "justice system" there even more suspect in Daniel's eyes. It sounded like the tail end of a comment about a bribe. It's improper to give a judge gifts.
