shareDamn - all the adjectives I was going to use! I love this film too and Goldie is amazing in it. Makes me wonder why she didn't take more dramatic roles after it. She's certainly capable, as this movie proves. Also, the cinematography is excellent and Thomas Newman's music is outstanding.
Thomas, if you is a mouse catcher, I is Lana Turner - which I ain't...
i totally agree, shes fantastic in it! and its a handsome looking film, with a rich ,moody score. im sure it was a commercial hit so im amazed she didnt do more str8 roles. and it was directed by richard harris's son. i must look see if he has done any other stuff. its a shame it only ever gets so-so reviews.
its definately my favourite thriller and kept me on the edge of my seat when i first saw it.
i wouldnt go as far as saying kept me at the edge. I could probably recommend a few better ones.
You've fallen in love with all the things in life that destroy men!

Agree, well-paced, featuring brilliant supporting performances, interesting camerawork/cinematography, and all anchored by a thrilling score courtesy of Thomas Newman.
And Hawn is phenomenal, i'd go as far as saying it's better than the female-lead-in-a-thriller performance that got the Oscar that year (Jodie Foster in The Silence Of The Lambs). Flawless, fierce, passionate, fascinating, eerie and haunting. Why she never did much more drama i'll never know.

I liked it a lot too. I agree that Goldie did well in a dramatic role.
I read somewhere that she felt she 'was in over her head' in the role, I guess she felt she didn't pull it off very well. I thought she did!
But I must say that I felt it was John Heard's film. His portrayal was chilling!
He did not get enough screen time, in my opinion.
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
Couldn't agree with ya'll more! I got this DVD for Christmas, I'm watching it now!
