In what scene is Beatrice Straight?
I know that Beatrice Straight plays Goldie Hawn's mother in this film? And, her scene is only 5 seconds or so. In what scene is she? Is she merely shown in a family photo, or something?
shareBeatrice Straight is seen very briefly and hardly even recongizable and seen away from the camera during the scene in which Adrienne and Jack celebrate their daughter's birthday party. If you look closely in the crowd of all of the guests their at the party, you can see a red-haired old woman. That is Beatrice Straight. It is very odd though, in my opinion, that director Damian Harris would bring aboard an Oscar winning character actress like Beatrice Straight for only a five second scene, no lines and hardly recongizable in which she appears in the scene.

shareI realize this is a little late but I remember seeing this on first release and I recall at least one scene with Goldie and Bea. I remember her mother frowning on her character 'dating' through the want ads. I also think she had suspicions about the husband. I saw it again recently and those scenes were gone. Shameful!!!
shareI am sure lutherpons is wrong. The credits at the end are in order of appearance. Beatrice Straight's name come straight after Mary, Goldie's daughter. Mary's first scene was the birthday party. Straight wouldn't have been "frowning" on Goldie's dating habits at the party, 5years after she got married.
Yes, I agree, except for an out of focus background shot lasting 5seconds, Beatrice Straight ended up of the cutting room floor for something she did after her grandaughter's 5th birthday.
