You could try Zhang Yimou's other movies. They are all great. Also another Chinese director called Chen Kaige's Farewell, my concubine.
Similar in the sense of women serving men is "Memoirs of a Geisha". It has all Chinese actresses instead of Japanese as major characters. The movie was scandalized by some for that. Different culture, slightly different time 30's and 40's, but sumptuous and story driven. Much different in a lot of ways, but you should enjoy it. Many have. I plan on a second watch of that movie.
"Ju Dou" with Gong Li looks very good. I am going to rent that next.
