I say "kind of" b/c there's all these threads up saying how she died already. But I thought I'd at least attempt courtesy.
Anywho, I just thought I'd ask people's opinions on this character. My class hated her right up until the very end, but I had a feeling throughout the movie that she was all right. I loved the scene where she and Songlian have the conversation about people being ghosts and ghosts being people, it was so insightful. (I also think the actress was really good).

I read the book before I saw the movie (it is difficult to get foreign films where I live). In the book, the characters where better developed and I really liked Meishan because I felt she was bitter about the situation she was in and befriended and helped Songlian much more.

She was my favourite of all characters... And I really liked that conversation between two of them. Actually, I came here to see if there are any posts about it...
