Did she deserve to have such a tragic destiny? I know she isn't a bad person, but yet we can say that two people died because of her. I think that although being a bitch at times, she didn't deserve it.

When I saw her insane at the end, I remembered when she was talking to the 3rd mistress how her servant is lucky to be dead, and in that way she was set free. But she ended in a way she totally didn't want. Alive, again without anything and imprisoned in the place that destroyed her in first place.

Your thoughts?

She didn't deserve to die at all. She may have been a bit of a bitch, but no one really deserves to die.

He wants to produce something of mine.

You could say she chose it. At the start she was given the choice of marrying- she chose a wealthy man, even though she knew she would be a concubine and in this kind of condition. She could have chosen to be a poor man's only wife.

Not that this means she deserves her ending, I'm just saying that she wasn't completely oblivious to the stress she would be under even at the beginning. She intellectualized the situation, but when things happened irrationally she couldn't deal with it.
