What happened to Dr. Gao?

What happened to Dr. Gao when he was caught with the Third Mistress at the hotel? There is never any mention of him thereafter. Does anyone think he was killed as well?

I wondered that, too. They were really concerned about embarassing the family, so I wondered if he was at least sequestered. I would bet it would also depend on how wealthy and powerful The Master was.

They wouldn't have been able to kill Dr. Gao because he was a man and, as a doctor, a man of some standing. That doesn't mean he wouldn't have lost face or experienced some other repercussions--he's definitely not their family doctor anymore--but unlike Meishan and the other women, he wasn't anybody's "property."
