Stupid question about Arlene's dad
Yes, this is probably painfully obvious to everyone, but I'm not clear. Is Phil calling Mr. Levine a Nazi b/c he's a mean, controlling boss or is he using it as a racial slur?

shareWhy would it be a racial slur?
shareI figure it's the mean, controlling boss aspect. He works for his father-in-law, but when his wife gets angry he says "Do not call Mr. Levine!" Mr. Levine? They don't seem to have much of a relationship. Sure Phil's married to his daughter but there must not be a lot of father-son warmth between them.
shareBut what has that got to do with race?

I don't think it has anything to do with race. Since Levine is a common Russian Jewish name, maybe the writer of the post thought Phil's remarks were anti semitic. But I don't think it was. I think Phil meant the way his wife's father ran his company and his family.
I think Phil meant that his father-in-law was a traitor, the lowest of the low: a Jewish man who was friends with Nazis. Kind of like George Soros, the owner of Media Matters.
