An immersive and intense performance. Many out there, especially fans of the original Cape Fear, find him unthreatening and ludicrous. Yes, he is over the top, but it’s in a very effective way for my money. He goes full madman!
Scorsese’s direction and homages to Hitchcock are magnificent, but it’s De Niro’s memorable performance that elevates the film.
Yea De Niro outshines the stellar cast including the impressive director.
I have no problems seeing him get the nomination for this film.
