One great movie!! (Spoilers)

I saw this movie under its other title (in UK) of Stockade when it came on TV a while back.
It had some great moments and has a few endearing touches. Esp when sweetbread dies. personally I think the sarge totally lost it and had no idea wat he was doing but he shoulda gone down for manslaughter. Had tht lawyer-esque type officer not got him off the hook when bean mentions something about McKinny saying help...which the lawyer turns around as if he was shouting help.
Irony being that tht younger black guy became beans kind of friend at the end.

It has morals and doesn't rely soley on mush and violence like so many movies of recent years.

I also foudn myself singing the song they dance to when they march and the look on Charlie Sheen (Beans) face when they do that is priceless.

Martin and Charlie Estevez (those sheen fans out there know tht tht is the real family name) should team up more often as they have a britlliant on screen chemistry (father and son ties aside).

It is, indeed, a great film and a wonderful story, IMNSHO. I'll be watching it again soon.

A small point, if I may. If you're going to be pedantic about the family's name(s), please try to get them all correct. Martin Sheen was born Ramon Estevez and his middle son was born Carlos Estevez. Martin told his sons it was their choice as to whether to use their birth names or stage names in their careers. The eldest, Emilio, and the youngest, Ramon Jr., decided to use birth names, while the middle son Anglicized his first name and took the stage name. Martin has said he considers it an honor that his sons followed him into the business, whichever name they use.

His IMDb bio says his mother's maiden name was Phelan and he took his stage surname from Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, whom he greatly admired.

Learn something new every day. Thanks for nudging me to look it up, Ed.
