John Singleton: The Scorcese of the Hood Genre

I just saw this film on a Netflix disc for the First Time. POWERFUL Stuff! You notice how they show the shot up Reagan/Bush 1984 campaign posters at the Beginning of the film? Not to show my Democrat Bias, but Economic conditions (and also Racism) are Integral in creating Bad Hoods the World Over. This movie reminds me of "The Bronx Tale" a few years later. In the Latter Film, the Capo with the Heart of Tarnished Gold keeps Colosio from going with his Friends on a Revenge Mission which ends Badly for them. The whole thing Harkens Back to Humpty Hump and The West Coast Allstars rapping "you kill a BLACK MAN? What Are You-RETARDED?!? Do you work for the KLAN! We're ALL in the Same Gang!" in 1990.

And, YES, Rodney King or no Rodney King, LA Civic leaders could have Learned from this Movie, and maybe avoided the Extremely Destructive Riots that occurred one year after this movie was released-mostly in the exact same area it was filmed in.
