Just rewatched this great movie but def got a stand by me vibe at the beginning which is cool.... Anyways

Yeah! Both scenes even involve railway tracks but in completely different settings.🐭

It's a great contrast in their reactions to a dead body.

The kids in Stand By Me are bothered by it, they'd been on this journey to find it, and then when they'd do, they were kind of stunned to see the body right in front of them.

Whereas the kids in Boyz n the Hood are so desensitized and used to violence, they just remark on how bad he smells. Then when the Crip goes to steal Ricky's football, Tre mentions the dead body, and the Crip basically says in his own profane way "who cares?"
