HEY, dudes here's 20 questions!!!

#1. What was the difference between the "Original Theatrical Trailer" & the "Teaser Trailer"?

#2. Did anyone see anything they would like to wear, that the students wore to the Bill & Ted's University? Me? I'd like a pair of those shoes, so I could be a few inches taller!

#3. Were the students' keys JUST to turn their monitors on, or do you think the university ALSO used the signal for "taking attendance"?

#4. Why did the students put clear wrap-around glasses on before Rufus appeared?

#5. What is "Acoustical Reverbration"?

#6. Is Ria Paschelle a real person?

#7. Is "statiophonicoxygeneticamplifiagraphiphonideliverberator" real?

#8. Who else thought it was cool for the evil Bill & Ted to reveal themselves by opening their mouths & stretching their skin over them?

#9. How does one get the title of "Esquire"?

#10. What are Joanna & Elizabeth's last names?

#11. Miss Wardroe:

I mean, we've even got live coverage on Channel 12.
Then there are 3 syllables, or 3 breaths. What are they?

#12. HOW did the "Wedgie" get the name "Melvin"? The ONLY thing I could think of was the FIRST person to receive the wedgie.

#13. Evil Bill:
Ted, I have an idea. Tonight, at the concert, after we make De Nomolos' speech, let's waste them.
To whom or what were they referring? "THEM"? The audience?

#14. What is the "S." in Bill's middle name?

#15. How does one trill like Missy was doing at the seance?

#16. When I recorded this movie from T.V. YEARS ago, the Closed Caption said the words that Missy read to exorcise Bill & Ted. On my DVD the caption ONLY reads
SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Could someone remind me what she said?

#17. Can Keanu Reeves & Alex Winter REALLY play that well?

#18. What was the name of the Electric Football game that they used to beat the Grim Reaper?

#19. When Ted's dad, Captain Logan, takes Chuck De Nomolos away in handcuffs, the Grim Reaper says,
Book him, Danno.

#1. What was the difference between the "Original Theatrical Trailer" & the "Teaser Trailer"?
Um, I don't remember. length?

#2. Did anyone see anything they would like to wear, that the students wore to the Bill & Ted's University? Me? I'd like a pair of those shoes, so I could be a few inches taller!
I used to like the little glasses

#3. Were the students' keys JUST to turn their monitors on, or do you think the university ALSO used the signal for "taking attendance"?
I think attendance/sign in to the system is likely

#4. Why did the students put clear wrap-around glasses on before Rufus appeared?
To shield their eyes from the enormous distribution of energy indoors, and because they looked to be 3-D glasses; maybe it makes the entrance that much cooler?

#5. What is "Acoustical Reverbration"?
A redundant-sounding fictional sound engineering term.

#6. Is Ria Paschelle a real person?
Don't think so; she was from the future

#7. Is "statiophonicoxygeneticamplifiagraphiphonideliverberator" real?
You really need to even ask?

#8. Who else thought it was cool for the evil Bill & Ted to reveal themselves by opening their mouths & stretching their skin over them?
That's the image I remember most from the TV commercials. It made my mother ban me from seeing it. I went anyway.

#9. How does one get the title of "Esquire"?
I think technically you have to be a law student.

#10. What are Joanna & Elizabeth's last names?
Preston and Logan. They got married at the end remember? BUt as to their original names, I don't think they have one. The boys say it "looks like the castle of King Henry" in the first movie, but we still don't really know what year it is, or what king Henry it is.

#11. Miss Wardroe:
I mean, we've even got live coverage on Channel 12.
Then there are 3 syllables, or 3 breaths. What are they?
I don't remember this.

#12. HOW did the "Wedgie" get the name "Melvin"? The ONLY thing I could think of was the FIRST person to receive the wedgie.
I really don't know. I don't remember this being used in the early 90s. Then again, it could be a regionalism confined to San Demas. Like how in New England we call rubber bands "elastics". Also, Melvin might be a term for a more severe form of wedgie, much like the so-called "atomic" wedgie.

#13. Evil Bill:
Ted, I have an idea. Tonight, at the concert, after we make De Nomolos' speech, let's waste them.
To whom or what were they referring? "THEM"? The audience?
They refer to Elizabeth and Joanna, after realizing the girls won't "put out".

#14. What is the "S." in Bill's middle name?
Probably stands for nothing, like in "Harry S. Truman"

#15. How does one trill like Missy was doing at the seance?
Roll your tongue toward the front of your mouth just behind your teeth while making a high pitched squeal.

#16. When I recorded this movie from T.V. YEARS ago, the Closed Caption said the words that Missy read to exorcise Bill & Ted. On my DVD the caption ONLY reads
SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Could someone remind me what she said?
Her pronounciation differs throughout the scene. I don't remember it all, but it ends with "lui, sirc (or sirch) dinale". But I'm sure it's all just gibberish anyway.

#17. Can Keanu Reeves & Alex Winter REALLY play that well?
No. Though Keanu I'm sure has some skill.

#18. What was the name of the Electric Football game that they used to beat the Grim Reaper?
I specifically made a point to watch for this last time I saw it and now I forget. I think it was one of several similar sports games though. I think it was like "Table-top games" or something stupid like that.

#19. When Ted's dad, Captain Logan, takes Chuck De Nomolos away in handcuffs, the Grim Reaper says,
Book him, Danno.
Who is Danno?
It's a reference to an old show or movie (Dragnet, maybe?) where this was something of a catchphrase.

#20. WHAT IS IT with Bill's LONG brown beard & Ted's goatee?
It's a visual nod to ZZ Top.

Wow! Thank you for replying! It means a LOT to me!

#2.) USED to like the glasses? What happened?

#8.) OH, NO! You went anyway? What was the outcome? Did you get caught? Did you EVER tell your mom about it? EITHER way, what was the outcome?

#9.) DARN! Law Student. That leaves ME out. I can't study that hard.

#10.) Yes, I remembered them getting married. I WAS referring to their MAIDEN names. (No pun intended.)

#13.) OH! Elizabeth & Joanna! That makes more sense!

#16. I found out that when Missy and her friends are trying to exorcise Bill and Ted, the words they chant spell, "Ed and Chris will rule the world," backwards.

#20.) OH! Z Z Top!

Thanks AGAIN for your reply & answers!

#2) I still do like the glasses, just not as much as when I was 10.

#8) She found out, wasn't thrilled, but she got over it. I think she was assuaged when several people she knew had seen it and told her it wasn't that bad.

#9) i wonder if maybe "Esquire" in this sense is actually just a last name? Like a hyphenate? Because Bill refers to Granny as "Granny S Preston Esquire", and I kinda doubt that. But I think it's more likely Bill just thinks it makes him sound fancy.

#16) Oh yeah, I think I had heard that too, but forgot about it.

#2.) Oh, I see, now.
#8.) I'm glad your mom got over it.
#9.) Oh, yeah! I had forgotten about Bill referring to Granny as "Granny S Preston Esquire". Thanks for reminding me!

Thanks for answering my questions.

But as to their original names, I don't think they have one. The boys say it "looks like the castle of King Henry" in the first movie, but we still don't really know what year it is, or what king Henry it is.

They're "521" in the movie, so they were born in 1470. We don't know exactly how old they were when they travelled to 1988, but they are presumably anywhere from 16 (around Bill & Ted's age) to early 20s (they were from the 15th century, and they appeared young). The only Henry who was King of England in between 1486 and 1499 was Henry VII, who is too young to be their father and the "Evil Duke" seen in the first film. He would've been 13 when they were born.

Their re father must be that unnamed old Duke (would that make them princesses? or is that just accepted as a pet term?) and they were just staying at the castle of King Henry VII. Of course, if they are truly Princesses of England, then their full names would be "Joanna of England" and "Elizabeth of England." If they're daughters of Henry, then they'd be "Joanna Tudor" and "Elizabeth Tudor" (one of several famous Elizabeth Tudors).

#10. What are Joanna & Elizabeth's last names?

They wouldn't have had last (maiden) names - last names were introduced in Europe by Napoleon, they didn't exist yet in the Middle Ages :)

reply

Oh, I didn't know that! I didn't even THINK of when we started using last names! Thanks for the insight!

The reference is to "Hawaii Five-O" in which the lead (McGarret, played by Jack Lord) would regularly use the phrase "Book 'em, Dan-o" to his partner, Danny Williams (Played by James MacArthur). I don't think it was so much a nod to Hawaii Five-O, as much as that a certain generation simply associated "Book 'em Dan-O" with any arrest or pending arrest.
