Makeup during the 'dead' sequences...?

After Bill and Ted were killed and were roaming the afterlife, is that makeup they were wearing? And were their clothes dyed in a dark blue as well? Or was this all done during the post-production phase...?? I've always wondered this... Anyone help??

I'm guessing simple make up and monochrome clothing - post production FX would have been very expensive.

Yep, i'm pretty sure it's just makeup. I always admired the
fx in this one.
