at the end where rufus comes out of the chick's skin and says "that was mr denomolous, sit up champion" but it didnt make any sense because he just seemed to say it out of nowhere

He actually says "And by the way sit up champion of the 27th century." Which marks it off the top as an aside. It makes sense, it's just isn't that important.
