He didn't like her though. He wanted her as a 'trophy wife' which she was not interested in being. If he liked her, he would have shared her interests (ie reading). And he would not have attempted to lock her dad up in an asylum just for being different.

That's so. But still I guess he could have chosen any of the Bimbettes who were shallow unlike Belle.

Yep - his only interest in Belle was because the town folk considered Belle to be the best catch in town.

Good God he had a whole list of good qualities!! I'll cover a few of his better ones.

He uses antlers in all of his decorating.
His spitting ability.
His biting ability.
He's got biceps to spare.
He's got a swell cleft in his chin.
Every last inch of him is covered in hair.

Admit it, you know which team you'd prefer to be on.
