Help

I used to watch this show but I get confused because all of a sudden Ruth Anne and Stephen Floyd were taken off the show. What happened to these characters? I remember seeing an episode where Stephen leaves but i never knew why because i only saw the ending.

She turned me into a Newt! A newt?? ..... It got better.....

Do you have any proof that Stephen-Floyd & Ruth-Anne were taken away by their father? I think some people assumed that when the show "Almost Home" came on that that premise happened, but there are particular instances where Millicent says that she only has one son (referring only to Chuckie-Lee) and two daughters (referring only to Dorothy-Jane & Mary-Sue). I think the hard truth of the matter is that the show had something when it was just "The Torklesons", but not enough, so the network took it in a new direction (Almost Home), and dropped two meaningless characters that nobody liked anyway I'm sure. I liked border Hodges, but he would not have fit into the new mold either. I just think they thought dropping the idea that those characters ever existed was the best option. Afterall Millicent does not seem like the mother who would give up custody of two of her children. Plus Randall didn't exactly seem like the ideal dad considering he lived on the road and barely saw his kids anyway.
Anyway, there's my take, but if there is a true reason why Stephen-Floyd and Ruth-Anne left the show (or were forced to), I'd love to hear it.

Theres more to the story. Much more to the story. Disney edited scenes of that show for bad words, story lines that kids couldn't get, etc.

How lame is that? :-/

Where did you read/hear that? And what exactly was cut? Do you know where it's described in more details what they cut? Sorry but you're just making me very curious by only saying there's more to the story without explaining...

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Theres so much more to the story, I remember when this show was on NBC and watched every episode. Its much different than what aired on Disney Channel.

The New Moon episode with the transition from Oaklahoma to Seattle starts off with a scene from "The Long Goodbye," a scene which Disney didn't air when Randall and Millicent have a huge fight and they agree that Randall should take the 2 kids.

There was quite frequent mention of the 2 kids in Almost Home, like telephone calls, etc. but Disney edited them all out

The "Fox and the Hound" episode is much more racy than what Disney aired. The bald guy sexually harrasses Millicent and makes moves.

The "Winnier Take Millicent" episode had some bad words in it, nothing too much but Disney still editied it.

The "To Date or Not To Date" was drastically edited in the college strip poker scene. There was a lot more footage.

I can't even think of them all now, but the show was drastically cut from its original format. Its such a wholesome show, it should be on. During "The Torkelsons" things were pretty clean and the edits are really only for bad words and some slight changes in the scenes (ie. sex/riley roberts bs).

Almost Home was pretty drastically edited. Many scenes were not aired on Disney. This explains why things would jump, and things would happen, and then you'd think WHAT? Where?
