Didi was kind of a B......

Ever since I was a kid I never liked Didi! She just seems so bitchy and callous to me, especially when it comes to Angelica. Like I know Angelica was a problem child who was snotty and spoiled, but there were times where Didi seemed to "enjoy" punishing or catching Angelica do something wrong a little too much!

Plus, just sometimes the way she interacted with Stu and Grandpa.

I don't know, was and still am not a fan of her.

you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.

I didn't like her because she favored Dil over Tommy

Watch the movie and then the episodes with Dil in them. It's like Tommy wasn't even there when Dil was around.

reply

She didn't favor Dil over Tommy!

In the movie, Dil was a handful, b/c he was a newborn. Therefore, he needed that extra attention since he couldn't do much for himself like Tommy can.

reply

I feel the same way-I always felt sorry for Angelica whenever Didi would get mad at her.

reply

Well, there were several times over the years, when Angelica deserved to be punished. And except for how she always kept talking about Doctor Lipshitz, which I found really over the top, I don't see any reason to dislike Didi.

Intelligence and purity.

reply

No. I always thought that Didi was a little aloof but not bitchy. And the times that she punished Angelica were necesary because Angelica was so bad to the babies. And I don't think she favored Dil over Tommy. Dil was a little baby and needed more attention. She still loved Tommy as well. And as a matter of fact, in the All Grown Up show, she seemed to show him love.

By the way, there was a scene in the first movie where after the babies went off in the Reptar Wagon, Stu was talking to Didi over the phone while she was out shopping and you can barely hear her say she wants to speak to Tommy to which Stu and Grandpa Lou discovered the babies were gone. Now tell me. Why would she ask to speak to Tommy?

reply

If I recall correctly, Didi's Dr. Lipshitz worship was the writers mocking Arlene Klasky's frequent references to child behavior experts whenever she would come in and whine about their adult writing "having a negative influence on childwen."

reply

Didi was mean to Angelica.

reply

I found Didi more dense, really. I know she was a new mom when she had Tommy and was reliant on Lipshitz but still, common sense, woman!

I would always rather be happy than dignified. 😁

reply

Remember that Didi was a mother of TWO infant boys! On top of that, she was babysitting the neighborhood kids.

So imagine how hectic her life was at times. And how tired she must get.

reply

Didi revealed that Tommy was a boy and didn't let Stu win the Kingfisher 9000.

Drew didn't deserve it.

reply

Based on Angelica's behavior, she needed someone to love her enough to discipline her and teach her right from wrong. Her parents obviously weren't doing a good job of that.

Giving a child consequences for their actions isn't mean, it's TOUGH LOVE. If Didi was her mom instead of Charlette, I bet you Angelica would've been nicer and well-mannered.

reply

I was not the biggest fan of Didi as she didn't seem to be a very fun parent at all, she seemed kind of cold and distant IMO, I liked Stu a lot better as a parent.
