Anti-enviromentalism messages?

Is it just me, or were there a couple of anti-enviromentalism messages in this show?

One of them happened early on, where Doug talked about how, according to Bee Bee, tress cause more pollution, than her father's factory.

Later on, there was an episode where Doug tries to make a monster movie, and suddenly, he has the idea to use a garbage truck that wants to "Beautify Bluffington" as the villain.

I think the early scene in "Doug Gets Busted" you're referring to, where he mentions Beebe's project, was satirizing the denialist attitude of wealthy businessmen and introducing the audience to the attitudes of her and her family in a humorous way. So I think it was more pro than anti-environmentalism.

The "Beautify Bluffington" campaign seemed to just be showing more of Mayor White's incompetence. The show was always pretty anti-authoritarian, making fun of politicians and many others in positions of authority, such as Mr. Bone, and portraying them as incompetent. At the same time, they're juxtaposed with more level-headed, wiser adults like Mrs. Wingo and Mr. Buttsavitch (though he's off-screen).
