Music

I think the music from Doug was brilliant. Who could forget bangin' on a trashcan? Plus the episode I rewatched tonight had a song in it that I recognized like I heard it yesterday. They're just catchy :)

I think the score is brilliant. I was just looking at the wikipedia entry and I don't think it's mentioned at all. I wondered if the people responsible for the music ever released albums?

I have really enjoyed the show being on again. The score seems to be partially inspired by the solo in Lady Madonna to me - then of course there are The Beets who are a nod to The Beatles. KILLER TOFU!

Favorite music cues:
-the sound when they cut to the past or a dream/fantasy sequence
-the angelic 'ahh' you hear when doug sees patti sometimes. although in the ep where skeeter is going to move they used it when doug saw skeeter, so that threw me off since i associate it with romantic feelings.
-when roger does something there is usually an electric guitar that makes a Debbie Downer type sound.

The music in Doug is awesome. Love Mr. Dink's wacky theme! Plus, you know that episode where Doug tries to do his ventriloquist bit for the talent show? While Doug is back stage, both Roger and Patti perform songs that you could faintly hear. Roger's freaking ROCKS, and Patti(which you can hear less than Roger's) is really belting it out. All I could hear(since Doug and the backstage characters were speaking over Patti's performance, was her singing about when she was a little girl. But yeah, when I first saw that episode, I said to myself, with Roger and his gang's rock song and Patty's song, no way in hell did Doug ever stand a chance. Hell, they out performed Chalky.

But yeah, love the songs in Doug. All The Beets songs were catchy and would be stuff I'd listen to. I mean, who wouldn't like lyrics like "I eat my sugar cereal, but it makes my teeth bacterial!". Love the zaniness of "I Need More Allowance" and "Where's My Sock?". And Doug, his songs are great too. Love that Marky Mark daydream he has where he's called "Dougie D". Of course the whole dream about "Bangin' on a Trashcan"/"Think Big" that inspires him to get a big suit. Love that he ends the song by speaking the words, "One little voice.", then everybody cheers. The music was just so catchy, even "I'm a dog, you're a dog, everybody do the dog!", which Porkchop, Skeeter and Larry performed in the pet talent show.

I liked the hip-hop music that was played sometimes, as well as the music played at the mall. Also, anybody remember the whole "American anthem" style music that was played when there was a parade or anything involving a political figure? I thought Judy's jazzy theme was pretty catchy as well.

Yes.

I loved the Smash Adams music...loved the song from "Doug's Doodle" with Doug picturing himself as Smash.

Durango Doug was absolute genius.

Also loved the music from Doug's Lucky Hat.

Loved the Beats.

Loved the "varsity sports" music.

And countless others. The show really used a great variety of music for enhancement.

I believe the music for the show was done by Fred Newman. In fact, some of the music cues even feature mouthsounds that Newman is most famous for.

I like the music in Doug's lucky hat!

I like all of those, and the "beeyou" sound is funny lol. Here is a link to a video of scenes from Doug that had that sound in it http://youtu.be/95L7ltwJS3k

I also like the song where Doug sings " just call me ".

There is a funny sound in the " Nightmare On Jumbo Street " episode. You hear it when Doug and Skeeter are walking into the cinema at the beginning of the episode, and when the movie that they are watching comes on. It's supposed to sound scary, but I think it sounds funny too lol.

I think the music that is played in the scene where Mr and Mrs Dink talk about the first time they danced in the "Doug Can't Dance" episode sounds like "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen.
