OT: favorite 80s/90s Nickelodeon memories

I'm considered a Nick baby boomer as I was born in 1989 just as that channel became big. Not sure if it was as popular in the 80s as it was in the early 90s when it took off and the Nicktoons were born and the studios opened. My earliest memories of Nickelodeon are obviously Nick Jr around 1991-1992. I remember David the Gnome, The Noozles, Sharon, Lois & Brahm's Elephant show, Eureeka's Castle and that's about it. I kind of remember an early promo of Doug, where the announcer spelled out "D-O-U-G, Doug!"
I think I started watching the "big kids" shows around 1993 ish. Hey Dude was in reruns by then, as was Salute Your Shorts. I also think What Would You Do and Double Dare had just finished airing by 1993, and Wild & Crazy Kids had finished by then as well so I missed a lot of original runs of the 1990-1992 shows. I remember when Roundhouse and Welcome Freshmen were on. My aunt got to be an extra on that show, as she worked at Nickelodeon Studios. I remember pretty much every show on Nick/Nick Jr. from 1992 onward.

Favorite memories--my grandparents used to run a deli/mini mart and they had a cable TV there. On Saturdays my dad would sometimes take over so grandma could have a day off. I remember we would watch Weinerville there on Saturday afternoons if we had to go with my dad. It wasn't always super super crowded so we mostly sat around waiting for customers or just stocked the beer/juice coolers but they always had customers. They wouldn't have been there for 33 years if they didn't. They made the best sub sandwiches of that neighborhood. Everyone loved them. My grandma always put love into each one. Anyway I remember one day we were at my grandma's house watching What Would You Do and my grandma watched it with us. lol

I also used to get up early on Saturday mornings and catch the tail end of Nick @ Nite and then Nick Arcade would come on at about 7. This was all in 1994-1995. I really miss the voice of Herb Scannell. I think he was with Nickelodeon as late as 2006. Did he do the Nick @ Nite promos too?

Like the proverbial cheese, I stand alone. Even while seated.

Herb Scannell did voice stuff? What did he do? I thought I read it was Chris Phillips who did the various Nickelodeon promos and stuff?
