Dale

I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't stand Skeeter's little brother Dale. That had to be one of the most obnoxious little kids I've ever seen. There was the episode when he called Doug "Big Nose," and made him feel self-conscious. At the end of that episode, Dale bit Doug's nose too. Then there was the episode when Doug had to babysit Dale and he was a pain. There was an episode when Doug and Skeeter raked leaves and before Mr. Valentine could pay them, Dale jumped into the pile of leaves and made a mess. The episode that really made me realize how annoying Dale was had to be the Hamburger Boy episode. He keeps calling him Doug when Doug is in the hamburger suit and then later on, he takes Doug's pants and Doug has to put back on his Hamburger Boy outfit and get the pants back and Dale won't let go of them. If I were Doug and I had a friend with a little brother like that, I'd want to smack them. Not that I would, but I'd want to lol.

Well he was probably only like 2 but I agree he was annoying.

Yes. Dale was very annoying. Thanks for the reply. You're the only one I've been able to discuss Doug with on here. I wish more people wanted to talk about Doug. It was such a great show. I wish it lasted longer. For me, 4 seasons were not enough.

Had they gone much more than 4 seasons the quality would have likely declined. The Disney Doug is suggestive enough of that, though there were other factors in how that turned out. With the Nicktoons 2 stories an episode format, you quickly accumulate a lot of different stories and start to flesh everything out.

I think they had one more season in them, as I believe the writers had it in mind that they'd do 5 seasons before Nickelodeon decided they'd end on 4. Anything more than that, I think you would've seen a decline in quality.

He's in the classic "terrible twos" phase. I get a kick out of him. Yes, he's a handful and a bratty little 2-year-old, which is what makes him funny.

reply

I agree plus he was kinda adorable.
