The basis

I was wondering if anyone remembers the commercial for the USA Network in which we first see Doug and Pork Chop. The characters weren't named and they were different animators, but this was probably the basis for the look of the two characters.

In the commercial, a guy who looks like Doug is completing a bank of TV monitors in the shape of the United States. He puts the last one on with a grunt of effort. Then his dog hits the remote, and "USA Network" appears on the monitors. He gets very excited and runs into the next screen, where he points out whatever the network's slogan was at the time. The dog is a lot smaller and differently proportioned than Pork Chop, but the similarities to Doug's appearance are undeniable.
