Some brought up to me how Doug is really Charlie Brown, while Pork Chop is Snoopy. I can totally see this, and I'm amazed that I never thought about it before.

Doug is only similar to Charlie Brown in appearance. He has a completely different personality.

As Jim Jinkins once put it,

"Charlie Brown is a loser. Doug is just an average guy."

they are both pretty similar in real life situations and not all out of the ordinary.

I always thought Porkchop behaved like Snoopy and the similar qualities between Doug and Charlie Brown.
