In the episode "Doug & Patti Sittin' in a Tree," did Doug and Patti actually go out on a date? This one has always puzzled me, especially since they did almost kiss at the end...

I think so too. Even if you exclude the nervous conversation and the almost-kiss at the end, if you look at the beginning of the episode, you can tell Patti is clearly very nervous about asking Doug to go with her to the movies.

Pretty much a date. And I like that it was kinda reverse starting from which instead of Doug askng Pattie out(which he probably would've been too nervous to do) it was Patti that asked him out. Plus, that was one of the episodes where you got the sense that she also likes Doug the way he likes her. Maybe not semi-obsessively like him but she felt something for him.

Definitely a date. Pattie got all dressed up for it. Even if they bought their own tickets, the looks they gave each other proved it. It was just awkward for them since they were friends.
