He wasn't that much of a jerk he kind of reminds me of a more appropriate stifler from american pie you know? both jerks with good hearts.

Yeah I too feel sorry for roger in general I mean him growing up without a father must have been tough.

reply

I felt sorry for him in the " Doug saves Roger " episode. Like someone said above, he was a jerk with a good heart, but Percy Femur, the bully from that episode, was really mean and scary !!. Even though Roger was cruel sometimes, it did seem as though he wanted to be friends with Doug and his friends sometimes.

reply

Yeah the way roger was mean to doug it was mostly practical jokes but Percy bullied Roger in ways roger would never bully doug like tripping him or shoving his face into his lunch.

reply

Yeah, Roger might have been a smart-a** prankster type, but he was never really evil. I always felt kinda bad for him, too. He wasn't really a bad person underneath the "bad boy" image, like the episode when Doug babysat Roger's cat, and they thought he was sick, and Roger was distraught thinking he was going to lose him, only to find out he was a she and she was having kittens? Not a bad guy, just a little naughty.

***Is it just me, or does the poison taste different today?***

reply

I felt bad also because Roger isn't a bad guy he is just likes playing pranks and wants attention that Bully was a real douchebag.

*nod nod nod* I agree with you and most everybody else! I've always rather liked Roger...and I sometimes felt bad for him, such as when he was terrified for his beloved cat, Stinky. Felines really bring out his soft side, apparently. :3

reply

It was generally intimidated that Roger actually liked Doug...he liked screwing with him, but he also admired him. They were more "friendly rivals" than anything else, though Roger was a common catalyst for Doug's neurosis and paranoia.

reply

When I was a kid, Roger seemed like the biggest bully ever.

Now that I watch it when I'm older, he's not that bad at all. Like you guys said it seems like he likes Doug but he likes giving him a hard time too.

reply

Same here, bob.

reply

I haven't seen the episode where Roger is bullied. Hopefully I see it on TeenNick soon.

He seems like a slightly evil Conan O'Brien / Fonzee (Happy Days) hybrid.

reply

I thought Roger was a jerk, but he wasn't bad. He always seemed like he wanted attention. Doug always figured out a way to make him the bad guy. Didn't Roger organize that party for Doug?

I could live in the sea.I'd make friends with a whale, and we'd live in a sunken pirate ship.

reply

Yeah in the episode doug vs. the klotzoid zombies.

reply

Also remember when Roger and Doug were supposed to fight? Roger clearly was nervous and only seemed to do it because everyone else expected him to.

reply

Exactly, I don't think Doug psyched out Roger I believe Roger couldn't bring himself to do it because deep down he cared about Doug.

reply

I think it was a combination of both. Roger didn't really want to fight Doug, and Doug made him nervous with the "Quail Eye." To Roger, this was out of character for Doug...he was used to Doug cowering in fear of him.

Keep in mind Roger's "friends" aren't really his friends...they're just dumb followers he doesn't even really like. He actually likes Doug.

reply

Yeah I remember the episode where Roger developed feelings for Doug's sister and Roger started dressing up like a skater to impress Judy and then his friends started to do the same thing.

I only really ever felt sorry for Roger when they revealed that his parents got a divorce when he was younger and that he had been held back a year or so in school. Entertaining character, but he never got my sympathy as much as say, Helga from Hey Arnold had.

I've got an ignore list longer than a Chinese pone book.

reply

What I want to say on Roger is, it trully is weird how in this series he looked older while in the Spanking series looked younger.

reply

I, as someone else mentioned, thought Roger was a total jerk growing up. He seemed more like the antagonist to Doug. Since I haven't seen Doug in ages, maybe that would change.

reply

I did a little bit because for a person who's a jerk he can be a likable person.

reply

I never really thought that Roger was all that bad. Sure, the most messed up thing that I thought he did was frame Doug for stealing Mr. Bone's trophy. But as far as anything else goes, while he may have been a bit of a jerk at times, they weren't exactly terrible. Percy, on the other hand, was just a terrible person to boot. Also, Guy from Disney's Doug was more of a douche than Roger was.

All I need is one mic...
