What are your opinions on Ms. Newberry (the substitute teacher)?
Me I've thought she was a bit too quick to judge someone but I didn't think she was really that bad of a teacher.
shareThe implication seemed to be that she was incompetent...as most substitute teachers are. If I recall correctly, she was reading a "Substitute Teachers" manual in the Teacher's Lounge.
The message of this story, of course, was about the importance of a first impression. Once you make a bad first impression on someone (in this instance, it was through no fault of Doug's), it can be almost impossible to change someone's view of you, as Doug found out.
