Does anyone else think Bushroot was sometimes too nice to be a bad guy?

I don't know what it is, but compared to the other 4 in the group, he was actually kind of reasonable and likeable at times.

reply

Yeah he did seem to be on the sweet side but only when he was in love or in a good mood

reply

That guy was always in love. lol

reply

I think so...he as kind of shy & he didn't like 2 fight unlike the others.

Darkwing and Bushroot are kind of friends at the end of "Slime Okay, You're Okay." I'm not sure if they really team up, though.

They might even be friendly at the end of "Night of the Living Spud" too.

And "Twin Beaks."

reply

Whasn`t that kinda the point of his personality?

I keep thinking that he doens't really look much like the bad guy type.

Tad Stones himself said that he wouldn't have been surprised if Bushroot eventually reformed and became a good-guy.

Bushroot never really did seem the overly evil type.

He mainly just wanted a friendship or companionship in his solitude as a plant-duck. That was a theme of most of his appearances.

"HAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMM!!!!"

reply

I never saw Bushroot as a bad guy. More like comic relief that Darkwing didn't have to fight.

reply

I adore that guy. even after years of not seeing it, I remembered him, he's so cute, I would be his girlfriend or pair him with Licky, Poision is instersting too, ahem, yeah he's not really the bad guy type,

He did seem like a tragic character to me.

In the Christmas episode most of the people in the mall seemed to provoke him(I don't know if it was deliberate or not) that said I don't understand why he wanted to ruin Christmas for everyone else in the city. In his next solo appearance "The Incredible Bulk" we see at least one instance of him being a bit mean when he traps Darkwing and Launchpad in a giant teapot that would have boiled them alive if it had worked, he also says when his plants run away that he wanted to watch. I don't know if this was supposed to show him being mean or not, earlier in the episode when he finds the fertilizer he reads off the label that it would cause plants to grow like weed or instantly kill them. Spyke(I don't know if I spelled that right) begins to run away not wanting to take the chance that it will kill him.
About Bushroot teaming up with Darkwing in "Life the Negaverse and Everything" he teams up with Bushroot's counterpart and the other Friendly Four members. Also in the episode when Negaduck steals his henchmens' powers Bushroot and the others team up with Darkwing to stop Negaduck's rampage however they turn on Darkwing once they get their powers back.

reply

isn't he usually teamed up with Liquidator? I wonder if they hang out at his greenhouse.

reply

I don't remember if Bushroot and Liquidator ever teaming up without at least some of the other members of the group(the Fearsome Five), but to me that would make more sense Megavolt and Quackerjack teaming up without the other members.

reply

Bushroot and Liquidator are my favorites in the entire series run... and although he's on the softer side... Bushroot is still a villain because he will do anything to achieve his scientific goals.

reply

That's what made him such a good villain.

He was a tormented scientist that the others made fun of. I don't like my villains to be black and white 'totally evil' bad guys.

Like Daniel Plainview, there's good and bad in Bushroot.

reply

Bushroot is my favorite character in the entire series; he's also my favorite Disney villain overall.

reply

Yeah, Bushroot was really not such an evil guy at heart. His main motivations were loneliest and revenge. Generally he's only at his worst when he's been seriously provoked.

Really the only thing that made a villain was the lengths he was willing to go to try and solve his problems, which were far to extreme.
