Is anybody familiar with the late voice actors from Darkwing Duck?

I looked over the Darkwing Duck websites, reviewed all of the voice actors, and I learned that at least 15 of them died after the series.

Roddy McDowall (1928-1998)-Sir Quackmire Mallard from "Inherit the Wimp,"
Marcia Wallace (1942-2013) -Mrs. Cavanaugh/Clovis from "Darkly Dawns the Duck," parts 1 and 2
Phil Hartman (1948-1998)-Paddywhack from "The Haunting of Mr. Banana Brain,"
Johnathan Harris(I) (1914-2002)-Phineas Sharp from "In Like Blunt,"
Lorenzo Music (1937-2001)-the spider from "Aduckyphobia,"
Dana Hill (1964-1996)-Tank Muddlefoot from "Night of the Living Spud,"
Linda Gary (1944-1995)-Principal Farnsworth & Henry's mother from "Toys Czar Us,"
Ron Feinberg (1932-2005)-Agent Vladimir Goudenov Grizzlikof from "Dirty Money,"
Hamilton Camp (1934-2005)-GizmoDuck from "Just Us Justice Ducks," and Jock Newbody from "You Sweat Your Life,"
Tony Jay (1933-2006)-Death from "Dead Duck,"
Hal Smith (1916-1994)-St. Peter from "Dead Duck,"
David Doyle (1929-1997) the judge from "Adopt-a-Con,"
Michael Greer (1943-2002)-Museum curator from "Brush to Oblivion,"
Zelda Rubinstein (1933-2010) -Negaduck's Mother from "The Secret Origins of Darkwing Duck,"
Kenneth Mars (1935-2011) -Tuskernini from "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlatan,"

If you're familiar with any of these dearly departed voice actors, please let me know!

Sure but not personally - just from their work.

Phil Hartman (1948-1998)-Paddywhack from "The Haunting of Mr. Banana Brain" <- loved his role as Bill McNeal from NewsRadio, and he also did funny work on the Simpsons ("Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You may remember me in such films as...")

Lorenzo Music (1937-2001)-the spider from "Aduckyphobia" <- also Tummi Gummi (Gummi Bears) and Garfield too.

Dana Hill (1964-1996)-Tank Muddlefoot from "Night of the Living Spud" <- also Max from Goof Troop

Hamilton Camp (1934-2005)-GizmoDuck from "Just Us Justice Ducks," and Jock Newbody from "You Sweat Your Life" <- also H.G. Wells from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Tony Jay (1933-2006)-Death from "Dead Duck" <- also Sheer Khan from Talespin

Tony Jay usually voiced villans. He was good at it. He was Lord Dregg in Ninja Turtles and he was the lawyer in the Tom and jerry Movie which also had Dana Hill as Jerry.

Hal Smith was Gyro Gearloose and Glumgold in Ducktales.

Phil Hartman was just a great voice actor. Troy McClure and Linol Hutz don't appear in Simpsons due to his death which is the best thing as no one else can do a good job. He was also Mr Wilson in the Dennis the Menace cartoon.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this Lorenzo Music voiced Peter Venkman in the Ghostbusters cartoon (played By Bill Murry who funny enough would voice Garfield in the movies who was voiced by Lorenzo Music in the cartoon)Theres a rumour going round that Bill Murry made Music quit Ghostbusters due to Venkman sounding too much like Garfield.

Does anyone know who voices that woman/duck who runs the orphanage in the first part of the pilot? It's driving me crazy...she sounds so familiar.

EDIT: Nevermind. Figured out it was Marcia Wallace aka Edna Krabappel from the Simpsons.

Sad news, Marica Wallace has passed away on Saturday. She was 70 years old when she died.

reply

Sadly, Marcia Wallace passed away this year. She voiced Clovis and Mrs. Cavanaugh in Darkly Dawns the Duck parts 1 and 2.

reply

Sadly we now add Christine Cavanaugh (the voice of Gosalyn) to the list.

reply

She was my favorite voice actress. I can't believe she's really gone.

Kenneth Mars also voiced King Triton in the movie, "The Little Mermaid," and "The Little Mermaid 2 Return to the Sea," and also "The Little Mermaid" TV series. It's such a shame to lose such a great voice actor like him.

reply

Let's not forget Lorenzo Music he was the definitive voice of Garfield the cat and he was the original voice of Peter Venkman on ''The Real Ghostbusters'' and he was also the voice of Tummi Gummi on ''Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears'' he will never be forgotten.

I know Lorenzo Music (of course! I'm a huge Garfield fan), Phil Hartman (I was genuinely surprised he was Paddywhack. That creeped me out), Dana Hill (watched Goof Troop and figured she was Jerry from the Tom and Jerry movie), Kenneth Mars (I'll always associate him with King Triton), and a bit of Hamilton Camp.

Let's also add one more late voice actor to the list:

Ron Palillo (April 2, 1949-August 14, 2012) - Ordinary Guy from "Planet of the Capes"

reply

Just remembered David Doyle was also the original voice actor of Grandpa Pickles. After he passed the late Joe Alaskey took over.
