Am I the only one who can totally picture a current-gen DWD video game?

Seriously, how awesome would a PS2/multi-platform Darkwing Duck game be? With the kind of graphics they could produce (3D, if not CEL-SHADED), they could create some terrific and series-accurate visuals. Plus, with voice-acting in video games these-a-days, would it not make you just squeal with joy to hear the original cast resume their old roles for one last interactive hurrah?!? Hear Liquidator, Megavolt, QuackerJack, and the rest of the gang trash-talking the terror that flaps in the night during a heated battle! Roaming and fighting through 3D environments; figuring out which one of the trees isn't trying to kill you as you hunt for Bushroot (and his pet, Spike, who he'll sic on you to keep you busy as he digs into the ground to recover health) in the forest (plus, get to play Tarzan on the vines throughout the level), little water minions stopping you from confronting the Liquidator in the waterworks (climb pipes, close off potential escape points, etc.), taking out toy armies and motorized teeth as you go after QuackerJack in... um, a carnival or amusement park or something, cutting Megavolt off from all power sources in the power plant (while trying not to let him fry you with blasts and lightning fields), etc.. And countless varieties of Gas Gun ammo - old ones from the past games like Lightning Gas, Sleep Gas, and Heavy Gas, along with new ones like Sticky Gas, and a grappling hook feature thing, among ones I'm not creative enough to come up with. And on top of taking down each of your faves in one-on-one battles, the grand finale: the entire Fearsome Five at once, and as you finish off each one, it leads to Negaduck absorbin' 'em all to become the final boss, Mega Negaduck!!! Maybe even team up with (or even unlock to play as) allies like Morgana, Stegmutt, or Gizmo Duck. Go ahead....... tell me this wouldn't rock the world of each and every one of you.

That would be awesome. But let's face it, it'll NEVER happen.

I would much prefer (And it would also be slightly more likely) to see DWD & friends in a Kingdom Hearts game.

I would sure love to see a new DWD video game

reply

I think that is an awsome idea. I would love to see a DWD videogame made. It could be on all 3 major systems and on the Nintendo WII as well. You use the controller to control DW and where he shoots his gas gun as well as fighting. Voice acting would be sweet for all the characters. So many villains you could battle as well. Taurus Bulba, Splatter Phoenix, Liquidator, Megavolt, Bushroot,Quacker Jack, and Nega Duck. The idea of fighting the fearsome five and then fighting Mega Nega Duck is awsome. Also there would be levels where you would ride the Rat Catcher and fly the Thunderquack. Also a KH world of DWD would be awsome where Sora and company take on the fearsome five.

reply

SWEET! Darkwing Duck on Playstation2, PSP, XBox 360, PC CD-ROM, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, and Playstation 3! I can picture it now...
This single-player game starring Darkwing Duck as the playable character once again!

Negaduck would be the final boss of the game because he has kidnapped Darkwing Duck's daughter, Gosalyn from the Darkwing Tower during Darkwing Duck's nightly patrol throughout St. Canard, and it is up to you, as DW, to save her!

I could imagine all of the different levels you would have to go through in order to reach Gosalyn...(of course, you'll have to defeat Negs first).

reply

That does sound really cool! But it would be even cooler with mini games where you get to fly the Thunder Quack, and chase criminals with the Ratcatcher! As well as on webbed foot! You could earn money as you complete missions, and purchase new hardware, ammo, and supplies from SHUSH. Darkwing Tower could be the Home save point, and every time you complete a mission, it could Auto save. At least that`s how it sounds the coolest to me! There should be major boss battles too, and Darkwing should be able to learn new Quack Fu moves, to aid him in defeating bad guys when ammo runs low. Haven`t thaught of how his health should be restored yet. Maybe by collecting key items.

reply

Me, too! If the new Darkwing Duck game were released on Nintendo DS, I could picture the new title for the new game:

Darkwing Duck in Double Trouble-Trouble is brewing in the air of St. Canard when Negaduck (dressed as DW) is commiting a variety of crimes (burglary, arson, kidnapping, jaywalking, theft, hijacking, snatching candies from babies, shaking girl scouts for their cookie money, robbing senior citizens, breaking & entering, disturbing the peace, issuing bomb threats, vandalism, assault & battery, robbery, & embezzlement) and Darkwing Duck is getting the blame for it all! You can play alone or with a friend (but only up to 4 players can play) to track down Negaduck's whereabouts, find out when and where he will strike next, and help clear Darkwing Duck's name before an angry mob of citizens run him out of town! Play as Darkwing, Launchpad, Gosalyn or Honker to help prove the citizens and the St. Canard police that DW is innocent to all charges!

reply

Me too, Eclipse61985! I would love to see the new game as much as you would.

Keen gear!

reply

I don't know if Sora teaming up with old DW in a Kingdom Hearts game would work out well, nny12001, because Darkwing will lose his temper and have an absolutely complete fit as he usually does--especially about when his crime fighting capers don't turn out very well.

reply

I agree with macabre-6. That would be REALLY awesome! I can picture this! The action! The adventure! The non-stop thrills! I can even picture the taglines for a current-gen DWD video game:

"The Terror that flaps in the Night is back...with unfinished business!"
"Everything else was just the beginning...but this time, Darkwing Duck is taking on a real challenge!"
"Get dangerous this fall!"

reply

It would sound really awesome to me! Uh, do you have the storyline for the game, too? You could also unlock Neptunia, too!

reply

I could seem a platformer title similar to that of the Death Jr. series for PSP or DS. I don't know how appealing a DWD title would be on a new-gen system though.

reply

Oh gosh... If a DWD game existed, you'd never get me off the PS2 or whatever system it came on. I agree with the minigames idea. Like, you can have a couple of games for each character... Gosalyn, Darkwing, Launchpad... Oh what fun! I would so buy it.

Peace and love,

Hey! Yeah! Like you can act as Gozalyn, on her skate board, and rollerblades! And launch Pad can fly the ThunderQuack, and repair it! And maybe there can be multiplayer mode where Darkwing can team up with LP, or Gozalyn!

reply

I have come up with a list of power ups for the current-gen DWD video game, I hope you like them:

1.Negaduck-Watch out, keep away! That's a trick power up, a fake power-up, trying to trick Darkwing Duck into grabbing it, thinking it's a clue-resulting into losing a life!

2.Morgana's Kiss-Look for Morgana McCawbre; but don't get her angry! Collect her kisses (each of them restore 1/4 of your health); if you collect all 5, you get an extra life!

3.Darkwing Doll-Gives you an extra life.

4.Invinsible shield-Defends you from enemies for a limited time.

5.Hamburger Hippo Stand-fully restores your health!

6.Darkwing Tower-Save your game data

7.SHUSH H.Q.-Checkpoint when you lose a life

8.Gas tank-fills up your gas tank for your Ratcatcher

Me neither, s-k-returns-1, but I can picture finding new-gen Darkwing Duck video games (even very rare) hitting the market.

Keen gear!

reply

Sounds like it'd be a hit. I mean they should get someone like Insomniac games, or naughty dog to do it... R&C and J&D both being the best platformers on the system (hell, suckerpunch's Sly trilogy was great too).I've noticed though, that none of the Disney TV shows was in Kingdom Hearts.

reply

Yeah! Insomniac Games made Spyro the Dragon, and that`s still a popular game today! They`d probubly do a great job makeing a Darkwing Duck based game!

reply

Absolutely! There would be a training mode where Darkwing Duck can practice his Duck Fu moves.

Keen gear!

I can picture the dialogue in the part where Darkwing Duck finally catches up to the trechearous villain Negaduck, who has kidnapped Gosalyn:

Fade to: St. Canard/Night

INT. NEGADUCK'S LAIR

Cut to. Negaduck and Gosalyn
Negaduck has Gosalyn tied to a chair, and the little girl looks at him in fear. The villain tries to force her to tell him what she knows about Darkwing Duck. She refuses and looks away. Negaduck gets very angry and pulls her face towards his face.

NEGADUCK
(angrilly)
LOOK AT ME WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU, YOU SNOT-FACED LITTLE BRAT!! (slaps her across the face)

CLOSE ON GOSALYN

GOSALYN
I WILL NEVER TELL!

NEGADUCK
I'll make you talk,...ONE WAY...OR ANOTHER...we can do it the easy way, twerp...(in a very cold voice) OR THE HARD WAY...

GOSALYN
(with tears in her eyes)
NEVER!

Negaduck picks up a knife and holds it above his young hostage's throat, expecting an answer.

NEGADUCK
(hissing)
Tell me, little girl...what relationship do you have with Darkwing Do-gooder? Is it true that...YOU ARE HIS...(holds the knife closer to her throat) DAUGHTER?....

Gosalyn does not respond. She turns her head away from Negaduck's evil, hateful beady eyes in horror and hatred.

GOSALYN
(whispering)
You are so despicable...

DARKWING DUCK, O.S.
(bursts open the door with a cloud of blue smoke)
I AM THE TERROR THAT FLAPS IN THE NIGHT!!!

ANGLE ON DARKWING DUCK

GOSALYN
Darkwing!

DARKWING DUCK
I am the video that you cannot upload to your site! I am Darkwing Duck!

reply

wow! awesome opening scene! only, if kids are gonna play it, I`m not sure if Negaduck slapping Gosalyn would go over too well. but very cool! Darkwing sould have malee moves, as well as dodging, and shooting! make it challenging as well as fun!

reply

Well, DWRaptor, if it were up to me, this game would be rated E+10 for ages 10 and up...for some cartoon violence, comic mischief...you know what I mean...

reply

Yeah! ok! sounds good! Man I wish it would happen! Wish they could make it a multi platform game too! y`know like be for PS2, Nintendo DS, Wii, XBOX, Ect...
I`m gonna keep wishing, even though I know it`ll more than likely never come true.

reply

Also for Nintendo 3DS, Playstation Vista, Playstation 3, XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii U, too!

I also have a storyline for another Darkwing Duck game:

Darkwing Duck and Morgana Macabre are ready for their big date that night, and at the moment DW arrives at their meeting spot, he notices his girlfriend Morganna missing, only his daughter Gosalyn Mallard there, along with Morgana's pet spider Archie and bats, Eek and Squeak.

Gosalyn tells her father that Morganna has been kidnapped by the evil villain, Negaduck, who plots to tempt her back to a life of crime.

Hearing the news about Morganna's abduction, Darkwing sets out to rescue the love of his life from the clutches of the dangerous criminal and thwart his evil schemes.

Okay, everyone on this board is in agreement:
A DarkWing Duck Returns video game would be the greatest thing in the history of everything! Original voices, all the coolest villains, stories from the show, etc. All awsome! But I also think that A DW level in Kingdom Hearts would be more likely. I think we should petition for this to happen....any takers?

reply

I guess no one here remembers it, but there was a Darkwing Duck game released for the NES by Capcom in 92. I used to own it, but only remember that most of the levels took place in sewers. It was a piece of *beep* The DuckTales game, also made by Capcom, was awesome though.

reply

Yup! I remember, and own it! but no Nes system to play it on! I do have an emulator on my computer I sometimes play it on there! Woouldn`t it be cool it they made a 3D game on like PS2? or XBOX?

reply

There was a DWD game on atari and gameboy too

reply

I know, & they were planning 2 release Darkwing Duck 2, but, sadly...it never happened.

reply

man, I got to disagree with you there. I thought the Darkwing Duck game for the NES was just as good as the Ducktales game.

however there was also one I think for the gameboy, I have no idea if it was just a gameboy version of the nes game but i decided to say.

p.s. i wanted to post telling everyone about the game, you bastard :P

My life couldn't fill up a haiku, much less a book!

reply

I can picture Darkwing Duck going face 2 face w/ Megavolt in the DeLoonian Car Factory, like he did when he was temporarily blind in "Duck Blind," & I can also picture him fighting Quackerjack in his own Toy Utopia like he did in "Toys Czar Us,"

reply

In the opening of the current-gen video game, I can picture Darkwing Duck's adopted daughter Gosalyn who is trying to warn Darkwing Duck that Negaduck has escaped from jail & his gang is loose in St. Canard, running in a misty, deserted alleyway, infested with rats, past rows of garbage cans, climbing up a fire escape, ---ONLY 2 B CAUGHT BY NEGADUCK!!! She screams 4 help 2 a nearby witness---her best friend Honker Muddlefoot---she tells him 2 go get help as nasty ol' Negs begins 2 drag her in2 the deep dark, misty alley---she tells him 2 go find Darkwing Duck!
In no time @ all, Honker dashes off 2 go find Darkwing Duck 2 tell him about Negaduck who has busted out of the slammer & he has his men plundering the mother city, & 2 tell him that Gosalyn has been kidnapped by the menacing masked mallard.
