Did the theme song change in the later seasons?
I remember watching earlier seasons of The Commish and thought it was a fantasic series but then things seemed to change in the later seasons.
Things changed constantly throughout the series. One easy way to tell where in the series you are is by who the Chief of Detectives is. Season 1 featured Irv, then he was replaced by Paulie, who resigned giving way to Cyd. After she got her own Department, Paulie came back for the last season and a half.
In addition to that, various cops were featured at different times. I think the cops who left (such as Carmela after Season 2 and Stan after Season 3) were written out because the actors got tired of living in Vancouver--though that's just a hunch on my part.
All that said, I don't remember the theme song changing--just everything else. And I agree that the last couple of seasons weren't as good as the first 3. The show was more serious and also more unimaginative at the end. It became just another average cop show.
