In my opinon they should have ended the show with...(Spoilers I guess))

Sam & Clarissa getting together. The season 4 episode A Little Romance wasn't done well in my opinion & in a way I wish they would have left it out, & done a story angle in season 5 in which they developed romantic feelings for each other. Although, I know many people believe that ending a show like this with the lead male & female getting together is "lazy writing", but in this show it just made no sense to me that Clarissa & Sam didn't fall in love. Especially since there is a love song about them on the Clarissa & The Straight Jackets CD.

I liked that they stayed friends. You so rarely if ever see teenage male and female friends who respect each other on TV. I think it might've also made him climbing up to her window a bit creepy if he got involved with her. It would have been awkward and too...expected.

The respect between Clarissa & Sam is one of my favorite things about the show, so you made a good point with that. I also agree that Sam climbing the ladder would be a little edgy if they were dating, but remember I said I thought the show should end with them falling in love, not progress.
