Florida setting?

I know that this show was filmed completely at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, but in the context of the show, where was it set? Like was it ever stated that Clarissa and her family live in Florida?

It's never really made clear. I just got done rewatching the entire series and dont remember any references to where they live. According to the board game, it's "somewhere in Ohio" but I'm not sure if that's canon or not.

Now that you mention it...I kinda remember a vague reference to Illinois, but (figures) I can't remember the exact line or episode.

However, there is one instance in the first season that contradicts it: In the episode "No T.V." Clarissa buys a gigantic remote control and says that with it, she could control the TV channels in the Kennedy Space Center 30 miles away. So, it seems that in the first season it was actually intended to play in Florida which was obviously retconned later.
