hey, i emailed some on the bbc website asking about the release of the rest of the series of this series and they replyed back sayin something along the lines of not own the rights or something like that.

As for the BBC not owning the rights, this is normal. The BBC have, in the past, sold the rights to series which they do not intend to show again to other broadcasters; for example, Goodnight Sweetheart was sold to ITV recently and is currently being aired on ITV3. UKTV own the broadcast rights to 2point4 Children and continue to show the series on UKTV Gold.

shareThis is not quite accurate; Goodnight Sweetheart was an Alamo Production, and the BBC would only have the rights to a fixed number of showings before it reverted to Alamo. Showings on UKTV do not preclude a showing on a BBC channel also, they are not exclusive rights.

i have written a letter regarding the release of 2 point 4 children series 4-8
and sent them to "2 Entertain" and "Eureka Entertainment" as and when i get a reply i will inform everyone.

I am writing in regards to the release of Series 4-8 of 2 Point 4 Children on DVD, this was a fantastic series and is not shown on any broadcasting channel. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to ask you if and when it will be released on DVD. The release of series 4-8 would be a huge success because the series was very popular when it was broadcast on BBC One.
