Different opening credits (grandmother's chopped off finger)

So I recently decided to re-watch this movie I haven't seen since I was a kid.

The opening credits were a camera swooping over snowy mountains.

The version I remember from childhood, the opening credits were just a close-up shot of the grandmother's hand with her chopped off pinky finger with music playing over it. It was very creepy and has stuck in my mind.

Did I make this memory up, or did there used to be a version of this film where that was the opening credits, rather than the snowy mountains?

The whole opening credits were done on the grandmother's hand? That sounds very strange.

There is a closeup shot of the grandmother's hand with the missing finger while music plays in the background, but it occurs a few minutes after the opening credits. The opening credits (in all versions of the film) fly towards the screen over the snow capped mountains.

That sounds more plausible. I can't see how they'd drag out all those opening credits on an image like that.
