If anyone could do it, it would be Tim Burton, i've always wanted to see his take on the tale.

shareI pray to God that this never, ever happens. Burton would totally butcher it - Johnny Depp would of course HAVE to appear as either the Grand High Witch in drag or as Mr. Stringer and I'd bet my house Helena Bonham Carter would be involved. Both with their stupid "humour" thrown in as well.
I really don't want The Witches to be remade, because nothing will ever beat that beautifully terrifying opening in Norway and the performance of the Anjelica as the GHW. She made Roald Dahl's character come alive and then made it a million times better. I know he wasn't happy with the ending of this film but he MUST have been impressed with her. She was enchanting.
So glad to hear that someone else agrees with me. Worst idea since he "remade" Charlie and the chocolate factory. He has done some good movies. I'll give him that credit, but then he tries to make everything exactly the same as what once was creative. Like for instance Edward scissorhands, big fish, whatever were good. Everything else was ruined by his lack of creativity. We can't let him ruin any more classics!

I do like Burton (early Burton)but he has been on a bad movie kick for a while and I agree that he shouldn't be doing any remakes, instead he needs to make something original and fun like his early stuff.
shareI'm the same. Burton in his Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands days was great. Minus the Batman movies.
After what he did to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory we know now he should not being doing Roald Dahl movies.
