I never found this movie scary, except for ...

Hello!

Sorry for my bad english :)

I read many comments that say "This film scared the **** out of me", etc.

And I can understand that, but for me as a child, there was just ONE creepy scene, when the camera zooms in to the picture with the little girl Erica, the eery music and grandma saying "... locked in the painting ... gazing at us".

THAT is creepy for me.

The rest of the film never was. The grand high witch was always an unrealistic rubber mask, a woman in a suit, and after the first shot you see her, she behaves a lot like a hysterical old lady; watch her facial expressions when she tell the other witches about her conversation with Bruno.

The transformation-scenes into a mouse were never creepy to me either, because I always thought they are badly filmed, with the smoke clearly coming out BEHIND the ears, etc.

And the rest of the movie is more funny, it´s like an adventure movie, where little mouses try to steal magic drinks, running away from cats and all that.

But that scene with Erica locked in the painting, it´s not funny, because she was locked in that painting till she died, no happy end for her.

I still find that Erica scene creepy even now. The fact that she was getting older in the picture and music in that scene was very creepy.

Yes, that is still to this day a very scary scene.

Can't stop the signal.
