So if Luke (as a mouse) got the end of his tail cut off???
Would he not be (in some way) maimed when he was transformed back to a boy? - a finger missing? or worse!?

shareI was just thinking this.
shareSince boys don't have long tails in the first place, it shouldn't make a difference. Even if the transformation would leave him maimed, the spell could be adjusted accordingly.

No, and boys don't have fur. You've missed the point, - the boy (as a whole) was transformed into a mouse. That boy as a mouse then had the end of its tail cut off. Then from a 97% intact mouse transformed back into a boy. He would've had some damage turning back into a boy.
Get it?
I get your point, but I counter by saying that there are no real-world rules where fictional magical spells are concerned. It's very possible the good sorceress is skilled enough to restore him to 100% boy even if he's missing a minute percentage of his mouse body.
Or maybe he winds up missing something nonessential like a left little toe and doesn't notice it until after the credits.

They missed a trick here. Grandma has a lost finger and it is implied she escaped Witches earlier in life. Although Luke isn't supposed to be transformed back, they should have had him also missing a finger which would then make you think GrNdma suffered the same ordeal.
shareThat would have been a really good idea IMO! I guess either the filmakers didn't think of it or they didn't want to further traumatize younger viewers by showing Luke with a missing finger lol

Yes, Luke is now circumcised.

If I remember correctly, he had a small cut on his hand at the end after being transformed back to his original form.
