Why does Jake do it? *SPOILER*


Why does Jake kill Bodine? I mean, so what if he was going to tell the true identity of Katherine? The land was his, and in any case, the mineral rights were from Katherine. If any, Bodine had a reason to kill Berman. Dont understand.

Berman said he would do anything to protect her so when he found out someone wanted to smear his wife's good name, he did something about it.

he also says in the movie "plus, he was screwing my wife" implying it was party as revenge for that.

I think it was also because he knew he was dying and he didn't want to leave Kitty with nothing.

Agreed. Jake Berman thought that Bodine would screw his wife over (figeratively) after his death. And literally too.
