(spoilers) What was the point of the flowers?
Apparently I was too tired when I watched this, but I sensed there was a point to be made regarding how the flowers' colour was changed, but couldn't quite grasp.
shareKatherine's explanation (after untangling the pin from her hair) that the scorching of the seeds had to be repeated to keep the flower from reverting to its original color (just as with a hair dye job), simply enabled Jake to put two and two together, recalling that he had seen her at Max Factor having red hair dye reapplied to cover her original blond color.
