I always wondered what some of the people who lived there did for work like Nester? What did he do for work? I'm assuming that since Burt and Heather Gummer were gun enthusiasts that maybe they own a gun store in Bixby or something. What about Melvin's parents, did anyone think what they did for work out in in Perfection???
shareI assumed most were wealthy enough to go to a small town and retire, Not Bill Gates rich, but I don't it cost much to live in Perfection, not a lot of town services so not much for city taxes, Maybe Burt and Heather had a business that did well and sold it. Look at Duck Dynasty, made Burt had something like that. Again just assuming, but I figuted Melvin's dad worked and wanted his family somewhere nice and 'safe' and mom home schooled them it's never addressed in any movie that I recall, maybe the series.

Nestor was a garbage man, according to the script. This is never addressed in the movie, but his cap has a garbage company emblem on it.
Edgar Deans was a war vet and paid his bills from the war benifits.
Ol Fred auctioned his animals at pagents, according to the script. Also, original deleted opening involves Fred giving Edgar one of his prized donkeys, and it can be found on the DVD and Blu-Ray.
Melvin's parents owned a casino in Reno.

I thought Nester was Melvin's dad...why did I think that? Melvin's reaction when Nester is pulled under gave me the impression they were related.
