When Val and Earl go on the horses to see if the Doc and his wife went into Bixby. WHy? The road is out remember? They wouldn't be able to leave
sharePerhaps you missed the line where they said they went to see if the Doc and his wife left BEFORE the road when out.

yeah I thought the doc an his wife were leaving the night before the road got blocked
