I can't stand that people call them 'Graboids'...
That was just supposed to be a funny line from Walter to get a laugh, nothing more.
shareThat was just supposed to be a funny line from Walter to get a laugh, nothing more.
shareThat's what they're called though. If you have watched the other movies you'll notice they are also called graboids.
shareI don't care what they call them in the "sequels", which are straight-to-video trash. The first film is the only one that counts.
I prefer they remain mostly nameless--they never call them anything in the first film.
Dude, Tremors 2 is epic! Tremors 3 is *beep* but Tremors 4 is okay. But Tremors 2 is a great movie! What the hell, bro?
I have El Sonoma del Torra de Fiero Syndrome. Be happy you don't. Trust me.
It's not as bad as people calling them " tremors " >:(
shareTremors 2 is awesome. I haven't seen the other two movies yet, but I plan to watch them soon as I have the 4 film Blu Ray set.
See you guys at the 10 year prison reunion - Ben Richards

It's the exact same thing with Scream. In the first film, Rose Mcgowan's character called the killer "Mr. Ghostface", and the name "Ghostface" has stuck ever since. To make it even more like Tremors, some people call the killer in Scream, "Scream", much like some people call the creatures from Tremors, "Tremors".
sharei kinda perfer melvin's name for them. snakeoids. sounds more dangerous. he calls them that twice in the film. one where he and chang talk about coming up with the name. then the other scene is when the whole town is trying to get the graboid attention to help val.

"they never call them anything in the first film" -- What? Better watch it again... carefully. They are indeed called "graboids" in the first film.
share'Graboids' sounds like a name given to something you need a cream for..."apply liberal amounts of Graboid Cream to achieve desired results"
sharePeople call them Graboids?
"Garth! that was a haiku!"
What were you expecting from these people? Some pseudo-Latin taxonomy?
annelida gigantii Perfectionæ ... How's that?
Try to remember, if you will: These were ordinary people living in a very small town several hundred miles from the nearest ivory tower.
Perhaps they kept the name he gave the creatures in Walter's memory.
I call 'em as I see 'em...Underground...god...damned...MONSTERS!
Snatching after us who smote them, brother,
Pawing us who dealt them war and madness.
