kevin bacon on the new tremors series....

he bacon, ***** off, we dont want or need you back on the franchise, its doing just fine without you around...

you're all about the fame and money, and not the passion of the show, thats why you didn't do any sequels... and whats even more laughable is that this idiot hasn't even SEEN the movie tremors until recently, what a joke.

tremors is cult classic and because it didnt sell well at the time it came out, he turns his back on it, but now cos of the internet, and its all sequels, its grown over the years and is really popular, so now he thinks he can just come back and restart it under HIS terms, and ignoring all the sequels... sorry Kevin you're not wanted, Michael gross is the star of this show, he is to tremors, what Bruce Campbell is to evil dead...

Tbh I agree with you. His character in Tremors wasn't even memorable or likable for that matter. Burt and Earl were always the highlight of the first film. Even Rhonda was a more interesting character than Valentine.

reply

No. Valentine was very likable. A cool guy.

reply

Val was and is cool .

What ever happened to his character in the movies? Meaning the sequels? Him & Bert Gummer's wife. Do the sequels ever explain where they went?

reply

In the second one it's explained that Val and Rhonda got married and Heather divorced Burt.

Number 5 had jamie kennedy, and dont even get me started on number 4. Point is: the franchise is not doing fine. Bacon turned his back on it because he wanted to further his career and at the time it didnt. ANY actor would feel the same way. And heres an inside tip, most actors dont watch their own movies when theyre done. I agree with you about michael gross 100% but the only reason why you or anyone views him like that is because hes been in all the tremors projects so as a fan you have a natural bias. But if Kevin Bacon did all the sequels instead, you would view him the way you view michael gross. But something you also need to keep in mind is Michael gross is 69 years old. How long do you expect him to keep playing burt gummer? Whether you like it or not the reality(which I hate as well but accept) is for the franchise to continue it needs to move away from the burt gummer character. With fred ward as old as he is this is probably the best direction for now.

Yea, this griping is absolutely insane. He did what any normal actor would do IF THEY COULD, which is Move On! Bacon blew up. He's been involved in some GREAT Films over the years. He's taken plenty of risks too. It's not like he just does Blockbusters. Some are stars and some arent... Bacon is a Star. I agree in the sense that as a fan of the film, it's naturally upsetting to hear him bad mouth the film but he's not a Cult Film Actor, he's an Actor who happened to appear in a Cult Classic...

And the dynamic that he helped create was NEVER reproduced afterwards in any of the sequels.

Supposedly Bacon (and Macintire) was going to be in Tremors 2. However, after the budget was slashed, the studio could no longer afford him.

reply

It happens in alot of film series. Studios hesitate to pay actors, even though those actors helped make the film a hit. It's unfortunately just part of the business and I don't blame guys for walking away. Look at 'Halloween' for example... John Carpenter got paid next to nil for creating one of the greatest(And most profitable) franchises of all time. The only reason he was involved in Part 2 was because he wanted money that he felt he earned, but was NOT paid for the Original. Made on a budget of $350k, makes MILLIONS, he gets the shaft. In Part 6, they wouldn't give Danielle Harris $5k to reprise the role she made famous... $5k!!! That's how the Studio's are though. Bacon was ready for Part 2, they just chose to slash the budget and not pay him. He went on and made some Big Budget films, so I can't blame him for turning down crap money to go and expand his career. It sucks as a fan but I don't blame these Actors. I love Bruce Campbell too but he had ONE Leading role in a Studio Film and that was 'Army of Darkness'... That's it. He was never gonna be a huge star but hes made a great living doing Cult Films, TV Series and small roles in bigger productions such as Raimi's Spider Man Trilogy. No shame in t
