Depending on what direction I drive I live 10-15 miles to the nearest town. It and one other town are the only two towns in the entire county. The other is about 35-40 miles from where I live. I lived in the Orlando-Metropolitan area for 30 years. There's only one real difference between small towns, boonies (where I live), and big cities: convenience. That's it. 43,000 people live in my County, 6,000 total in the two towns which means most live in the boonies. Hate to break it to you but non-lineal incest is legal in most states in the US, to a certain degree. Oh, and the safest cities are actually mostly highly populated cities. You can check the data on that, if you like.
