Agreed. The sequels are not bad either (2 is my personal favorite of the series).






The Saw Is Family

No disagreement, here. One of the best scary/funny movies EVER. Too many times, when filmmakers want to combine scary and funny, they rely on 'camp,' i.e. obvious cliches and references to other famously-bad movies. In 'Tremors,' though, there was a REAL monster-movie sense of menace and death; they relied on the characters to provide the humor.

"What is that?"
"Cannon fuse."
"What do you have cannon fuse for?"
"For my cannon."

Best monster movie of the decade!

And no, that's not faint praise, this is a hell of a good movie. Nice mix of scary stuff, funny stuff, surprises, and interesting characters. Everything that makes a movie just plain fun.
