Totally agreed, I loved Splinter in the first two TMNT movies, I couldn't stand the voice actor for the third TMNT movie.

I thought this was one of the most truthful, intelligent scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

Splinter's speech here reminds me of my department manager from my previous job using the most hardworking, experienced employee to take advantage of so she could have him make her look good in front of the upper management, when that doesn't go well she'll blame her failures on him and subject him to unpleasant working conditions as a punishment, he would get very sensitive whenever he unintentionally makes her upset and be very hard on himself for failing.
