Drove me nuts

Brilliant suspense all the way until the end. We are left wondering who he was and where was Luke. But of course, it is realistic. In real life it would likely not be known who he really was nor where Luke really ended up.

The drawings were creepy

The end was horrible. I was waiting to find out what happened to Luke and where that boy came from. That was my cliffhanger the whole time! OUTSTANDING acting by Kate Jackson, now that's stardust!!

I remember liking this movie back then.

I think Luke was one of the three abducted boys that "Mark" described. Perhaps the one that the "grandparents" had re-named John or Matt - one of which who eventually discovered the newspaper clippings in the attic.

Luke was killed. Then shortly after so was the other boy leaving Mark as the only survivor who decided to track down the other boys' families to try and "belong" but after so many years of abuse and violence, he was too messed up to have a normal life and was compelled to kill and lie pathologically.

Even though it has dated a lot, this movie still works. I have these vivid memories from seeing it as a child that have stayed with me all these years and compelled me to track it down recently. God bless youtube!

I remember this was a pretty scary movie.

No, he was not "John" or "Matt", they were killed. Ricky was "Mark".

Luke was "Matt", it was pretty obvious. Ricky Schroder was "Mark", but he didn't know who he was and was most likely sold. He also first posed as "John" and killed his biological parents..
